The Dictates are a set of metaphysical rules that govern life on Aethera. They are testable hypotheses and so are considered to be similar to the laws of physics. They do incorporate elements of subjective reality, and it is for this purpose that a lot of philosophical questions are so easily put aside.

Violating someone's consent is not necessarily evil IF the person ultimately benefits from it. If they don't, or if you did it only for yourself, then a slow subtle force will call out to the people around you and eventually result in you being punished in some fashion. For this reason, abusers isolate themselves to protect them from repercussions (which are always delivered by intelligent people, not divine agency). But someone who believes that they are doing good and has shown that they do by being part of a community will be trusted to violate boundaries. For that reason, hermits living alone are considered odd but not inherently untrustworthy. But someone who lives with others and speaks for them in refusing contact is deeply suspicious.
