The Malignos Warlocks are one of the factions of Aeroclysm

Warlock-priests who control the bodies of their followers through pleasure, pain, sensory deprivation, and other such things. As a result, even the soulless (known to have no ambition or independent will) can be trained over time. The result is something like a necromancer but instead of zombies, controlling a desperately horny army of servants locked away from the pleasure they desire.

The Malignos Warlocks are a sinister faction made of a few powerful people and vast numbers of zombielike followers. It is not uncommon for hunger to drive someone to the point of desperation, to the point where the slightest stimulus of food can direct someone's entire attention and drives. The warlocks take advantage of this, in a much lewder context. Their primary way of recruiting new followers is to capture people and then carefully lower them into the clouds of Below. As always happens when a sentient being touches Below, the soul is ripped away leaving a living but mostly docile body. The warlocks have learned how to use harnesses to stimulate the pleasure and pain of the body, "teaching" it in a way that gives it some semblance of a mind, will, and drive. By carefully modulating the sensation signals, the warlocks can give the bodies instructions, can provide punishment and reward, and can eventually teach a body to behave as a somewhat intelligent (if single minded) follower.

The combination of physical symptoms and addiction manipulation strategies gives the very few warlocks the resources and support they need. Each warlock is ultimately a selfish person, driven by a desire to control more and more power. All however see themselves as either leading the way to something better, or as being no more evil than the rest of the world. As a result, they are rarely akin to cartoon villains but are usually instead deeply flawed people. They are, though, not exempt from the responsibility of choosing this soul-ripping process to gather their strength. In the end they are still doing the unconscionable.

Oh, and those souls that are ripped out? While few know it, those souls are the origin of the ghostly and deadly entities known as angels.
