To End All Wars is a custom Magic: the Gathering set designed around a top-down exploration of WWI in a fantasy setting.
The plane is known as Sonne. This is a pun on Somme.
Entire war was kicked off by a fire that destroyed some precious documents (original copy of the Constitution sort of thing)
Initial war was fought traditionally using swords and magic, but as time went on and the front expanded it became more and more industrialized.
The Race to the Sea still happened.
Tanks were invented though they're still known as Landships
Core Mechanics:

Fortifications always have three abilities:
- A passive ability "You control fortified land"
- A triggered ability "During your untap step, you may choose not to untap fortified land. If you do, X"
- A fortify cost
- Taking control of lands is a subtheme, which is countered by Fortifications (because it doesn't matter who "controls" a land once a Fortification is on it). To that end, a lot of things take control of lands temporarily.
Armies is a creature type. There's stuff that buffs Armies, but also Armies can "absorb" smaller cards. It's sort of like they're Oozes? Maybe all attacking is done by Armies but defending is done by non-Armies? Armies are immune to certain effects?
-1/-1 counters are the set's main counters.
Artillery rolls at the beginning of combat on your turn. You roll a single d6 and then consult the chart on each artillery piece for its effect.
